What an eye-opener to say the very least! Our weekend trip to Amsterdam was full of surprises!
It started off in a bit of a rush. Trying to get to King’s Cross station was a challenge in itself! When we did get there, another couple was rushing madly to the finish line as well - low and behold, it was Toby and Charlotte who were off to Bruges for the weekend. Had a quick chat to them then headed to our different carriages on the train.

Big cats are exactly that. Big. Very big. And when you are face to face with them, with only a thin wire fence (thankfully a very stable wire fence) between you and the cat, you start to realise exactly why they are kings of the jungle.

We did it! We climbed the 3 peaks of the Yorkshire Dales… Given we didn’t do it anywhere near the record time of 2 hours 50-something minutes, but we still climbed all 3!

Well, in summary, our trip to Italy was awesome. Awesome company, awesome place, awesome food (though we were over it not long into the trip), awesome sights and awesome history. We also tried the whole train travel thing, with only 1 flight to return back to London. So, where to begin…?

You’re thinking South, right? Well, wrong. To be honest, there is not much “South” about Southend-on-Sea at all! Instead, we headed west from London to Essex to meet up with some great mates for the day. Only to discover we could see where the Thames meets the sea
