Well after a lot of research, paper work, stress and waiting, we finally have our passports back and Kim is now a resident! Glad that I put in the many hours of research, we now have the ability to travel Europe which is, of course, one of the reasons we are over here. It was so hard to hear all our friends off and travelling every other weekend or planning a trip at the last minute. Now we can finally join in! Read the rest of this entry »

Since living here in London I have noticed that somethings that used to be weird about this place is starting to become “normal”. It is related to the fine black dust that you see on everything on the underground. It changes you… 
Some of you might be wondering why we went all quiet for what seemed to be an eternity. The reason – no internet. Not only did we develop a strong and passionate hatred for British Telecom, but we realised exactly how much our very lives (as we now know it) depend on access to the web.
How many times have you sat on public transport after a long day at work and heard a whole life story of someone on their mobile phone? Are you sick to death of people talking SO loud on their mobile phones on the train? Yes? Then move to London. Because the most of their train system is underground, there is no mobile phone range… for the moment. It’s great!
Very cool. And I have grown quite an obsession with the furry fuzzy little things. The are just so cute that you wish they’d grow a little more (like they’re not big enough already) just so you can cuddle them and pat them 
What an amazing 
Well, we’ve been overseas for 2 months now (not that we can believe it) and we’re finally starting to settle in. I started work last week with Barclays Capital and we found a place to live! So it’s all happening now, but we’re going to need at least the next 22 months (yes Dad) to discover London alone! There’s just so much happening all the time!
One of the first things Kim and I noticed over in the UK is the huge campaigns on global warming and our carbon footprints. There is a HUGE awareness initiative going on over here. But it seems that they’re also behind Australia (and other countries like Ireland) in many ways – even though on average Australia’s average CO2 footprint is much higher.
Has it become too dangerous to help out someone in need? We have all been in that situation where we ummmm and ahhhhh about it as we look and watch a broken down car sitting on the side of the road. The days of leaving your doors unlocked are long gone, but yet, there are a few people still holding onto the “honest” society. With the recent shootings in Melbourne, it is hard to determine if his efforts helping that person in need were a heroic act or a sad tragedy… 
Ok, so this is a subject of a relatively serious nature, and I dont expect most to read it (and I’ve been umming and ahhing about putting it up on here), but I also believe it’s an important one. And if I can make just one other woman aware, it will be more than worth any criticism I get about putting it up here.
