stonehengeAfter recovering from our Spehering experience, we head off for a day in the Cotswolds and then headed to Stonehenge to see what the fuss is all about.

We had lunch at a gorgeous pub in the Cotswolds where we sat outside in the garden sipping cider, soaking up some sunshine and eating our very refined lunch. We took a few photos and then took a drive through the Cotswolds to Stonehenge. We bought our tickets, grabbed our audio guides and made our way up to the ancient monument.

The audio guide was good, though we got the distinct feeling they were trying to draw out your time there. Afterall, it only takes about 5 minutes to walk around the thing, but the audio guide stretches that for at least 30 minutes. We found a piece of grass and lay in the sun while we listened to the history of the Stonehenge unfold. And in the end, they don’t really know what it was for :)

strawberryWe bought some outrageously shaped strawberries – we ended up throwing them out as the thought of the steriods these things had been pumped with turned us right off.

We headed toward the Woodhenge – a wannabe Stonehenge made of wood :P Obviously, there was only traces of the Woodhenge left, but it was pretty impressive nonetheless.
