So, just another update on the daily happenings around our neck of the woods. We’ve been here for just over 8 months now and we’re well and truly into the swing of ‘English’ life. Most people would say that the cultures are similar, but as someone said to me the other day, it’s quite odd how they’re not. Sure, you don’t have a language barrier (well, that’s debatable), but there are quite a few differences in lifestyle. For example, it’s (almost) unheard of to play sport after work. Gym - yes. Sport? Isn’t that what Aussies and Saffa’s do?
But we are still clutching to our Aussie roots. We’ve started playing netball now and have played 3 games. Ok, so we haven’t won any games yet, but I’m sure we will at some point (Kim said he’d be happy with a draw sometime during the season, maybe that’s so he doesn’t have to go pant’s down).
We’re also regularly going to a sanjuro class at our gym, which is keeping the limbs supple for our taekwondo! Dale should be happy with that we hope! Though we’d still like to find a real club to do some proper taekwondo, but we think we’ve been too spoilt by Dale and we’re not really interested in anything but the way he taught it
Like I said, we’re spoilt!
The next few weeks are going to be quite busy. In fact, the next few months! We’re off to Berlin for Easter, Austria (Vienna and Linz) the week after to catch up with Dad’s family, Belgium (Brussels) or maybe Amsterdam, then I’m back home (yay) and then Spain (Barcelona) for our first wedding anniversary! After that, we have a few weeks of work and we’re both back in Oz for a wedding - though only for a week. Definitely not long enough, but those annual leave days are soooo precious!
