Hey to everyone who has been reading this and waiting for the next installment. We wish you all a Happy New Year and hope 2008 brings everything you dream and wish for. Click on to read what’s been happening in our neck of the woods over the past month…
Well the freezing cold air in Oxford caused us to be sick! Two weeks it lasted, damn flu over here (of course, Kim suffered from man flu) is much worse than back home!
Christmas was great, though not white (but still cold)! We spent it with our new South African friends who were so warm and welcoming
Christmas eve at their house and Christmas day at ours. We unwrapped our awesome presents from home in the wee hours of Christmas morning with Mum and Angelina on the phone so they could hear our excitement!! Talked to the whole family, including Nana which was great!
We had a quiet New Year’s, watching the fireworks on TV as we were both sick and also remembering Pa on his 1st anniversary. We also had bad news on New Years day, hearing that our unit back in Melbourne had hit the news. It burned to the ground early New Years morning with our tenant inside. Needless to say we were devastated upon hearing the news and we are thinking of his family. We’re also thinking of Brad who knew him so well. So the last few weeks we have been on the phone to Australia a great deal chasing up insurance etc which looks like it should be all ok.
On to happier things now… we’ll be going on a few weekend adventures, starting next weekend in Frankfurt, Germany with our very good pal Guy
We’re looking forward to spending Australia day with a great Aussie mate… and a little closer to Australia!
We visited the Australia shop today to get a few of the things you take for granted when at home! Our shopping list consisted of Napisan (you have no idea), Freddo Frogs and Mint Slice biscuits (we’re not huge fans of Tim Tams). We also bought some Aussie bandana’s for Oz day next week!
Till next time, take care! Missing you all heaps!
