Some of you might be wondering why we went all quiet for what seemed to be an eternity. The reason - no internet. Not only did we develop a strong and passionate hatred for British Telecom, but we realised exactly how much our very lives (as we now know it) depend on access to the web.
It’s sad, we know. We know only too well how sad we are. But try being half way across the globe from home missing out on the latest goss while friends are getting married and posting their photos where? You guessed it, online. BT must think I can hold off seeing these gorgeous pics for a month while they stuff us around time and time again. Oh, did you know that it is not unheard of to be on hold with BT for an hour? And if it’s only an hour, count yourself lucky.
Oh and another thing. You would think that if your order for a phone line was cancelled for any reason at all, someone would give you a courtesy call. Nope. You have to call them up, sit on hold for a few hours, get through and then get passed to some other department and sit on hold for them for another few hours then find out that your line request has been cancelled.
By complete contrast, of course, our ISP was completely transparent and very VERY easy to setup. They were even earlier than their estimate for when our super speedy broadband would be available. And boy have we given them a hiding with a whopping 22GB downloaded in 11 days. But hey, with speeds of up to 8MB what do you expect? Jealous?
So yeah, sorry if you’re reading this and thinking we haven’t posted anything on here for a while or written you an email. Just blame BT, we do
