What an amazing carnival! More like a festival really - because it doesn’t really compare with Warrnambool Carnie (that’s the biggest understatement of the century).
Think louder than loud music, awesome costumes and amazing dancers. Then imagine multiple huge speakers on semi-trailer trucks as the floats followed closely by the bright sea of people following behind dancing to the pumping music. Then you have all the people watching on the side of the street (and I mean ALL the people, they say 3 million people attend this carnival) who are all bopping away to the beat and taking photos.
The number of people just kept increasing as the day went on and we were simply dumbfounded by it! As we were leaving in the evening, it seemed like more and more people were arriving! And there are 3 days of this!
Then Kim’s favourite, the food… Boy did he make the most of the opportunity to sample everything! Yummo! Kim said the temptation of “just another skewer” was just too great!
