I read an article (www.theage.com “Good wing tips”) on some flight tips that I thought would be good to share. From sleeping in airports to the do’s and don’ts on a plane it is the little things we sometimes forget in the busy rush for holidays.
- Unless you’re in the mood for socialising, do not strike up a conversation here or on the plane, otherwise you’ll be stuck in conversational purgatory for the entire flight. Keep your eyes down.
- For optimum sleeping conditions, take sleeping pills (to reach your destination fresh and forget you’re on a plane for six to eight hours)
- Ear plugs and eye cover (again, to avoid the fact you’re on a noisy bright plane with 300 other people)
- Socks and a scarf to keep warm while sleeping
- Asking for low-fat or vegetarian options also means you get your meal before everyone and can use the toilets before a queue forms. But this also means you’ll miss out on the little dessert.
- Get into soft comfortable clothes, take off anything tight. Brush your teeth, then do some stretches and have a quiet moment alone at the back on the plane to relax. Drink some warm water.
- Before going to sleep, arrange essentials and valuables such as your passport and wallet and put them into one of the pillow cases under your head so you won’t have to worry about them.
- If for some reason you have to sleep at an airport, make sure you get a comfortable option like Seoul Incheon - voted No.1 to sleep at http://www.sleepinginairports.net - hire a bed
Sleeping in airports website is a good read so do go and visit it cause its really interesting.
